How cool is this?
This is a longitudinal section of a live mouse (T2 weighted MRI scan). The tumor is just under the skull, at midbrain.
I have got the coolest job.
This blog is an attempt to document some of the successes and challenges of my job as a researcher.

You do have a cool job Jason. Very interesting.
Hmmm...I can't see what it is nor can I even see the brain... (I guess mine is missing.)
At the top right of the picture, you can just make out where the whiskers come out of the nose. All the interesting stuff is happening to the left of the picture. The brightest white portion is a fat pad the is between the shoulder blades, underneath that (to the right) you can see the vertebral column. It looks a little un-natural but the way the mouse is positioned, there is a big bend in the neck. If you upwards of the bend, the spinal cord transitions right into the brain. The tumor is a small piece of tissue sitting on top (to the left) of the brain. Hopefully that helps.
